Save calories with these quick drink solutions

WASHINGTON – Losing weight is hard enough even when you’re eating all the rights things. But factor in sugary drinks and that diet regimen could be going down the drain.

About half of Americans consume at least one sugary drink a day, and some guzzle more than 560 calories per day, reports Self Magazine. That is almost equal to a Big Mac.

If you’re craving something sweet, try these easy tips to have your shake and drink it, too.

  • Swap out that Jamba Juice Aloha Pineapple Smoothie for a Apple ‘n Greens. That saves 190 calories and adds kick of fiber thanks to the spinach and kale.
  • Instead of getting a grande Starbucks iced caramel macchiato with whipped cream, extra vanilla syrup and caramel, try a tall coffee frappuccino with skim milk and no whip.
  • Snapple might sound healthier than soda, but it can actually contain more calories and about as much sugar. Pick up an Honest Tea Half & Half Organic Tea with Lemonade, which has no grams of fat and just 100 calories.
