DANVILLE, Va. (AP) -- JTI Leaf Services' facility in Danville is getting a $7.5 million upgrade.
Gov. Bob McDonnell said Tuesday in a news release that the company plans to invest in new tobacco processing technology at the facility.
McDonnell is in Japan as part of a job creation and economic development marketing mission. He said he planned to express his appreciation for the project to officials with the company's parent, Japan Tobacco, at a meeting in Tokyo.
The facility opened in 2009 and employs more than 270 full-time and part-time workers.
