RPC Beats on Revenue, Matches Expectations on EPS

RPC reported earnings on July 24. Here are the numbers you need to know.

For the quarter ended June 30 (Q2), RPC beat expectations on revenues and met expectations on earnings per share.

EPS came in at $0.19. The 11 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ forecast $0.19 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.19 for Q2 were 42% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.33 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 37.2%, 660 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 15.2%, 910 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 8.8%, 560 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)

Looking ahead
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $453.9 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.21.
