Jive Software Hits Estimates in Solid Quarter

Jive Software reported earnings on April 30. Here are the numbers you need to know.

For the quarter ended March 31 (Q1), Jive Software met expectations on revenues and met expectations on earnings per share.

EPS came in at -$0.15. The 10 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ forecast -$0.15 per share. Non-GAAP EPS were -$0.15 for Q1 compared to -$0.09 per share for the prior-year quarter. GAAP EPS were -$0.25 for Q1 compared to -$0.15 per share for the prior-year quarter.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 61.4%, 330 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was -49.1%, much worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was -49.0%, much worse than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)

Looking ahead
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $35.2 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is -$0.16.
