MADRID (AP) - A Spanish court has sentenced two Argentine brothers to 13 years in jail each for transporting almost a ton of cocaine to Spain in a private plane.
The two were identified as Gustavo and Eduardo Julia _ sons of the late former head of Argentina's air force, Jose Julia.
The sentence made available Tuesday by Barcelona's Provincial Court said police found some 900 kilograms (2,000 pounds) of drugs on a plane they flew to Barcelona in January 2011. The haul was valued at some (EURO)32 million ($42 million).
They were each also fined (EURO)100 million.
A third Argentine, Gaston Miret, son of a former air force brigadier, co-piloted the plane but was acquitted as the court found he was unaware of the cargo.
The trial took place last month.
