LONDON (AP) - Britain's most prestigious house cat has finally earned its keep.
Larry, a tabby recruited by Prime Minister David Cameron to ward off mice at his official residence 10 Downing Street, has recorded his first kill in months.
A Downing Street spokeswoman says a staff member found the five-year-old "Chief Mouser" Tuesday sitting outside the famous black door with a dead mouse.
Larry, a former stray, has been known to take a relaxed approach to his duties.
The timing couldn't have been better: On Tuesday, a member of Cameron's Conservative Party was questioning whether the leader was "man or mouse" over his opposition to the expansion of Heathrow Airport. Tim Yeo is pressing Cameron change his mind.
Larry's reaction was not immediately clear.
