FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (AP) - The is seeking a $300,000 matching challenge grant to open a branch in the Fredericksburg area.
President and CEO Karen Coltrane tells The Free Lance-Star that the museum has submitted a grant proposal to a local foundation. She didn't identify the foundation.
Coltrane says the new branch will cost about $600,000. The museum plans to raise the matching funds in the community if it receives the grant.
A site for the branch hasn't been selected.
