FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - A Stafford County baby sitter has been charged after police said three small children under her care wandered about a mile from home.
The Free Lance-Star ( http://bit.ly/KVQfaL) reports 22-year-old Lasheika S. Harmon is charged with three counts of felony child neglect.
Stafford County Sheriff Charles Jett says a fast-food restaurant manager in Falmouth reported a 7-year-old boy alone in the restaurant Saturday. His siblings, ages 4 and 6, were found in a nearby field.
Jett says authorities went to an apartment about a mile away and found Harmon, who said she was caring for an 18-month-old while the three older children played outside.
Jett says the children were turned over to their mother.
Harmon is being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
