WASHINGTON -- Police in Stafford County are looking for a man they say tried to abduct a 17-year-old girl last week.

The teenager was walking from one apartment to another at the Garrison Woods apartment complex on Oct. 25 when she tells police a man in beige car began following her before before stopping his car and ordering her to get inside it.

The victim says when she refused to get in the car, the man told her he would get out and make her get in. The victim says she ran off as the man yelled that he would be back to get her.

The incident, which happened last week, left the victim very scared, she says, which is why she waited until Tuesday to report it.

The man was driving a long, 4-door, beige sedan with stock silver wheels and squeaky breaks. He is described as light-skinned, possibly hispanic, with short black hair that was spiked in front. He spoke with a slight accent.

Stafford County Police have increased patrols in the area, they say.

Anyone with information is asked to call (540) 658-4400.
