WOODBRIDGE, Va. (AP) -- A Prince William County grand jury has indicted two former child-care center workers on dozens of counts related to abuse of children in their care.
This week's indictment expands on charges filed in November against 24-year-old Kierra Spriggs and 29-year-old Sarah Jordan, former employees at Minnieland Academy at the Glen in Woodbridge. Spriggs was indicted on 57 charges, including counts of child cruelty and assault and battery. Jordan faces 39 counts.
A Virginia Department of Social Services report found the women encouraged toddlers to fight and dunked children afraid of water into wading pools. It also found the women laughed about feeding kids Flamin' Hot Cheetos. Minnieland says it fired the women.
The Washington Post reports Spriggs' attorney declined to comment and Jordan's attorney could not be reached for comment.
