DUMFRIES, Va. - Prince William County police are identifying three officers involved in the fatal shooting of an armed burglary suspect last month.
The Washington Post reports that police say Nicholas Colella, Brandon Fields and Christopher Moore fired on 21-year-old Jabril Eli Mitchell. Police say Mitchell was being sought in connection with an armed burglary earlier in the day and that he fled from police and refused commands to drop his weapon.
Police Chief Charlie Dean says the three officers were placed on administrative leave after the incident and have now returned to work.
Deane and Commonwealth's Attorney Paul Ebert have ruled that the shooting was justified.
