MANASSAS, Va. - A man being treated by paramedics is dead after police used a Taser on him, prompting an investigation.
It happened in Prince William County on Hiram Court in the Coverstone area just after 3:30 Saturday afternoon.
Paramedics were trying to help 29-year-old Debro Wilkerson of Manassas.
Police say Wilkerson became combative with the paramedics and they were called in, and they had to use a Taser to subdue him. He was then taken to the hospital where he died.
There is now both a criminal and internal investigation into the incident. What killed Wilkerson is not clear and police will not say what he was originally being treated for.
There will be an autopsy.
