WASHINGTON - A Prince George's County resident will receive a reward from Crime Solvers for helping to catch the man suspected of being the East Coast Rapist.
The tipster remains anonymous, but Prince William County and Fairfax County will send the person $1,000 each.
Prince George's County Crime Solvers will send money as well, though an amount has not yet been decided.
Police say tips from the public were the key to catching 39-year-old Aaron Thomas of New Haven, Conn.
Authorities say DNA confirms Thomas is responsible for rapes and other attacks on 17 women from Virginia to Connecticut.
Thomas is expected to be tried first in New Haven.
