Police: Loudoun lemonade stand robbed

WASHINGTON – Investigators say a group of children running a lemonade stand in Loudoun County were robbed Thursday afternoon.

Two 12-year-old children were selling lemonade in a Round Hill subdivision between 1 and 2 p.m. when a young man approached to check out what they had to sell and asked if the children could break a $20 bill, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Department.

Not sure, the children began counting what money they had on hand. The man began to help count and then grabbed the cash and walked away. He instructed the children not to tell anyone of the theft, according to the sheriff’s department.

Officers are investigating the case as a strong-arm robbery.

The robber was described as having olive skin, dark hair and a thin mustache and was in his late teens. He was wearing light blue shorts and no shirt.
