Pipe bombs found in Loudoun County

WASHINGTON – Pipe bombs were found Saturday morning in Loudoun County, officials say.

The sheriff’s office says a call came in around 10 a.m. about suspicious devices in the Sugarland Run area. Officers found three devices next to a bridge along Algonkian Parkway.

The sheriff’s office says two of the devices — believed to be pipe bombs –had already been detonated.

Members of the explosive ordinance disposal team took care of the third one on the scene.

There were no evacuations.
