ASHBURN, Va. - A 21-year-old man who opened his door early Saturday morning was assaulted and robbed after opening his door to whom he thought were friends.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's office says that the man opened his door to his home on Hiddengrove Court around 4:15 a.m. As he opened the door, he was immediately struck with a blunt object, and at least two men came into the home.

The house was rummaged through and several items were stolen.

Investigators say they are working with the victim, who was treated and released from a local hospital Saturday, and are actively gathering evidence in the case.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office at 703-777-0475.
