Bethany Decker, 21, was last seen at her Ashburn apartment Jan. 29.

ASHBURN - Court documents may shed some light on possible motives in the disappearance of a pregnant Ashburn woman.

According to investigators, Bethany Decker had described her boyfriend's demeanor to family and friends as "controlling and abusive." The 21-year-old woman has been missing for more than a month.

Investigators cited the boyfriend's demeanor in the affidavit used to search his mother's house.

Police believe the 21-year-old man is the father of Decker's unborn child. The man also told police he was the last person to see Decker.

In an earlier news conference, investigators and Decker's family did not disclose that the missing woman was estranged from her husband, who is currently serving in Afghanistan.

Loudon County Sheriff's Department says both the boyfriend and Decker's husband have been cooperating with officials, and there are no signs of foul play.
