ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) -- A Vienna man who admitted letting a teenage girl die from a heroin overdose rather than seeking help and then dumping her body has pleaded guilty to a federal charge.
Twenty-year-old Kyle Alifom entered a guilty plea Monday in U.S. District Court in Alexandria to a charge of tampering with evidence. He had originally been charged with heroin distribution resulting in death.
Court documents indicate that Alifom, 16-year-old Emylee Lonczak of McLean and two friends traveled back in August to the District of Columbia to buy heroin.
Lonczak, using heroin for the first time, passed out. The group took Lonczak back to Alifom's house, where she died. Alifom admitted he then hid her body outside the home because he was afraid he would get in trouble.
