3 hurt at Six Flags America as park lets out

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) — A fire department spokesman says three people were injured at Six Flags America during the first night of its Halloween event, Fright Fest.

Prince George’s County fire spokesman Mark Brady says officials were called in to handle a large crowd leaving the park around 10 p.m. Saturday. Brady says a large group of patrons were exiting the park at the same time and something happened resulting in injuries to three teens. Brady says all the injuries were considered non-life-threatening, though two teens were taken to a hospital.

ABC7 reports that some people who were in the park claim a fight broke out involving up to 200 people. A Six Flags America spokeswoman says one guest was injured during a fight in the parking lot, but added that “reports of a large fight or other serious injuries are completely inaccurate.”

Fright Fest began Saturday and continues every weekend until Nov. 2.
