2 dead in Arlington house fire

WASHINGTON — Two people are dead as the result of a house fire near the intersection of South Langley and 19th streets in Arlington, Va.

Five other occupants made it out safely, according to the Arlington Fire Department.

Firefighters were called to the scene just after 3:30 p.m. Saturday, after reports that people were trapped while the home was on fire. The first responding firefighter sustained minor burn damages to his hands while trying to enter the home.

The fire is out, but firefighters are waiting to ensure the structural stability of the home before they process the scene and determine a cause.
