Nonprofit Arlington Neighborhood Villages, which focuses on helping senior citizens age in place in Arlington, hosts an open house. Refreshments and free parking provided in the building’s garage.

Wednesday

Clarendon BallroomChiefs vs. Chefs

Time: 6:30-9:30 p.m.

The Arlington Food Assistance Center hosts its annual fundraiser, pitting local chefs against the cooks for Arlington’s fire stations, with the best meal winning the “golden eggplant” prize.

Nikki GlaserLive Comedy: Nikki Glaser

Comedian Nikki Glaser, who made it to the semifinals of season 4 of Last Comic Standing, performs stand-up comedy at the Drafthouse. Tickets are $20, and available online.

18th Street S. and Crystal Drive
Time: 8:00 a.m.-noon

A 16-mile, family-friendly ride around Arlington from Crystal City, up to Columbia Pike, Ballston, Rosslyn and back to Crystal City. $10 per rider, $25 for a family of four. Register online.

The Church at Clarendon (1210 N. Hartford Street)

The Church at Clarendon hosts a free concert with the critically acclaimed Go Go Symphony, a troupe that plays D.C.’s native genre and shows where the beat doesn’t stop.

Sunday

Blessing of the Animals*
Rock Spring Congregational United Church of Christ (5010 Little Falls Road)
Time: 5:00-6:00 p.m.

Bring any type of pet — mammal, bird or lizard — to Rock Spring for the regular blessing of the animals. Dogs must be leashed and other pets harnessed/contained. Homemade dog treats to be served.
