3 arrests made in death of teen in Prince William County

LAKE RIDGE, Va. — Prince William County police made three arrests
in the shooting death of Brenden Wilson, 16, a student at Woodbridge Senior
High School.

Kawain Tyrell Smalls, 20, of Woodbridge, Virginia, is being held without bond
on charges of murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and
possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Kymothy-Tyriq Desean Wislon, 18, of Woodbridge, Virginia, is charged with
conspiracy to commit a felony. He is being held without bond.

The third arrest in the murder of Wilson is a 17-year-old boy.

Wilson was shot and killed near the school in broad daylight Monday.

The police say the shooting was drug-related and that Wilson knew those
involved.

According to police, Wilson was
gunned down on a paved path that students use
as a shortcut.

One man who lives nearby, Tom Obrist, tells ABC7 he heard multiple shots, at
least five or six.

Wilson is the second Woodbridge Senior High School student murdered in as many
years.

In September 2013, student Kenny Diaz, 18, was stabbed and killed during a
drug-related incident.

Diaz was a reserve player for the school’s football team.
