WASHINGTON (AP) -- Celebrity chef Art Smith is opening his Capitol Hill restaurant for a late-night Chefs Ball ahead of President Barack Obama's inauguration.
Seven celebrity chefs are teaming up for the charity event on Jan. 19 at Smith's Art and Soul restaurant. They will prepare late-night bites for guests coming from other evening events.
Smith says Washington is a burgeoning food town and visitors should expect to eat well. He says he wanted to showcase some of the best food in the city.
Smith was Oprah Winfrey's personal chef and also appeared on TV's "Top Chef." He will join Erik Bruner-Yang of Toki Underground, Scott Drewno of The Source, Todd Gray of Equinox Restaurant, Rock Harper of D.C. Central Kitchen and Mike Isabella of Graffiato in hosting the event.
