Paintball hits Maine pol's home after gun vote

Friday - 4/26/2013, 3:20pm  ET

BIDDEFORD, Maine (AP) -- A Maine lawmaker who cast a critical vote on gun control legislation says someone fired a paintball at his home in an attempt to intimidate him.

Sen. David Dutremble broke a 6-6 tie Tuesday in supporting a bill to limit gun magazines to 10 rounds. The vote by the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee sent the bill to the full Legislature with a recommendation to pass it.

The following evening, police received a report of someone firing a paintball at a second-floor window of his home. It made a mess but didn't break the window.

The Portland Press Herald (http://bit.ly/1829R9P ) says Dutremble said in a statement that lawmakers should not be subjected to threats or acts of violence. Police are investigating.
