Texting and dinner: What’s acceptable?

WASHINGTON – You see it all the time. People pulling out cell phones during meals and meetings.

Now, a new survey by the University of Southern California finds that age plays a role in how people view texting while eating.

Fifty percent of those between 18 and 29 think texting during a meal is OK, compared to just 15 percent of folks 30 and older.

A third of the younger group thinks texting during a meeting is appropriate, compared to just 17 percent of folks 30 and older.
