Police to resume search for missing UVa student from Alexandria

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Police expect to resume the search for a University of Virginia student from Alexandria who has been missing since early Saturday.

Charlottesville police Lt. Ronnie Roberts says authorities searched a large area east of the university Monday and found no trace of 18-year-old Hannah Elizabeth Graham. He said the search would resume Tuesday, although he was unable to provide details.

University President Teresa A. Sullivan issued a statement saying the community is “united in our deep concern” for the Fairfax County freshman.

Police say more than 60 new tips came in Monday night about where Graham might be. Some of those tips might force detectives “to move in another direction.”

Graham was last heard from when she texted a friend early Saturday while out for the night.

Graham graduated from West Potomac High School in Fairfax County in 2013.

According to university officials, Graham is 5-foot-11 with blue eyes, light brown hair and freckles. Police released surveillance photos showing Graham wearing black slacks and a gold and black crop top.

Anyone with information on Graham’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Charlottesville Police Department.
