Dominion to buy solar project in Calif.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Dominion Resources is planning to buy a 20-megawatt solar project in California.

The Richmond, Virginia-based energy company announced the agreement with EDF Renewable Energy on Thursday. The deal is expected to close later this year.

The project in King’s County, California, has secured a 20-year power purchase agreement.

Dominion says the acquisition will bring the company’s total solar portfolio to 232 megawatts either in production or under construction.

Dominion Resources Inc. is one of the nation’s largest producers and transporters of energy.
