Easements protect 608 acres in Frederick County

GAINESBORO, Va. (AP) -- More than 600 acres in Frederick County have been protected from future development.

Four property owners worked with the Potomac Conservancy to place conservation easements on a total 608 acres.

Frederick County Conservation Authority chairman Diane Kearns tells The Winchester Star ( ) that it's the largest section of contiguous land under easement in the county.

Another 288 acres in the county owned by Kearns and her father also are protected by a conservation easement.
