LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) -- Construction on a new science building is underway at Liberty University.

The 125,500-square-foot building's grand opening is set for January 2015.

It will house the university's physical and health sciences programs.

Liberty planning and construction design coordinator Brad Barber tells The News and Advance (http://bit.ly/KehAwv ) that the new building is part of a campus beautification process.

Liberty also plans to construct a new School of Music building adjacent to the science building. This building is still in the design phase.

A grand opening for the new Jerry Falwell Library will be held in January.
