WASHINGTON (AP) -- Rep. Frank Wolf says he will not seek an 18th term in Congress next year.
The Republican who represents northern Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley announced his decision on Tuesday.
Wolf says he plans to focus his future work on human rights and religious freedom, both domestically and internationally. He says he will also focus on matters of culture and American family.
Wolf, 74, was first elected in 1980. He lives in Vienna with his wife, Carolyn.
