NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- Norfolk is holding a grand opening for its new Amtrak station.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at the station at Harbor Park in downtown Norfolk.
Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation director Thelma Drake and Mayor Paul Fraim will speak during the event.
Amtrak began service from downtown Norfolk in December 2012. It marked the return of intercity passenger rail service to the city for the first time since 1977
