RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Del. Scott Lingamfelter's Democratic challenger in the 31st District has conceded the race to the Republican incumbent.
With Lingamfelter up unofficially by 234 votes, Jeremy McPike called to concede on Wednesday. Lingamfelter said McPike was gracious in defeat, and he also received a congratulatory call from Gov. Bob McDonnell.
McPike confirmed his call to Lingamfelter and called the race gratifying.
Lingamfelter has been in the General Assembly since 2002. He called McPike's challenge a "tough battle."
The 31st District includes Prince William and Fauquier (faw-KEER') counties.
