BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) -- Things are starting to feel normal for Virginia Tech again.
The Hokies are winning behind a dominating defense and just enough offense, and have already taken one big step toward another ACC Atlantic Division title with an impressive victory against Georgia Tech.
But even with struggling North Carolina (1-3, 0-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) coming to Lane Stadium, Logan Thomas and the rest of the Hokies (4-1, 1-0) aren't ready to declare the program restored.
Thomas says the team's four-game winning streak and triumph against the Yellow Jackets is "a good start," but also notes that the Hokies beat Georgia Tech in their opener last year before going into a nosedive. They lost six of eight in one stretch and staggered to a 7-6 finish, their worst record in 20 years.
