Tazewell airport gets $750,000 in improvements

CEDAR BLUFF, Va. (AP) - The Tazewell County Airport has a new beacon to help guide airplanes and a new automated weather system.

Other improvements include a second taxiway and apron around a hangar that opened in 2012, and renovations to the terminal and landing strips.

Airport manager Jerry McReynolds tells the Bluefield Daily Telegraph (http://bit.ly/11WB9PB) that the beacon and the weather system will be beneficial for airplanes landing at the airport.

Other improvements include renovations to the terminal and landing strips.

The improvements cost a total $750,000.
