SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. (AP) -- A grand jury will hear charges next month that a 77-year-old Maryland woman killed her 62-year-old Richmond boyfriend who she said was unfaithful.
The Free Lance-Star (http://bit.ly/18noczK) reports that a judge on Wednesday sent the case of Lillian Mae Levy of Mechanicsville, Md., to a grand jury that is meeting Aug. 19.
She has been charged with first-degree murder and other charges in the April 27 shooting of James Thomas in Spotsylvania County. He died 12 days from a massive brain injury.
Investigators have said Levy shot Thomas in the head while he slept in the camper they shared every weekend. They said she first denied shooting Thomas but later admitted she was angry at him for cheating on her.
Levy's public defender could not be reached Thursday.
