LYNDHURST, Va. (AP) -- Police say a Lyndhurst woman was trying to get off the tracks when she was hit by a train on a trestle.

The Augusta County Sheriff's Office tells media outlets that the 19-year-old victim and a male companion were fishing off the trestle when they heard the train. The man got off the tracks but the woman slipped and fell a few feet from the end of the trestle.

The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. Saturday in Lyndhurst.
