RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- The family of a former nurse at nonprofit hospital in Richmond has donated $1 million in her honor for a guest house's construction.

The hospitality house at Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital will be named in honor of Evelyn D. Reinhart, who died of cancer in 1986.

The 14,000-square-foot house will have 16 guest rooms and other amenities. It will provide overnight housing for families of patients being treated at St. Mary's.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/10yGqgM) reports Reinhart's family attended a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday. The $4 million house is scheduled for completion in May 2014.

Reinhart began volunteering at St. Mary's after she and her husband moved to the area in 1960. She later became a registered nurse.
