PETERSBURG, Va. (AP) -- A body recovered from the Appomattox River is believed to be one of two Virginia State University students missing since Saturday.

Media reports say the body was located by divers Monday afternoon. It was taken to the medical examiner's office in Richmond for identification.

Authorities have been searching for the two since they entered the chilly river with a group near the campus in Petersburg. They were last seen near the Martin Luther King Bridge.

The university identified the students as freshmen Jauwan Holmes and Marvell Edmonson.
