HARRISONBURG, Va. - Police say the arrest of a man carrying about eight pounds of cocaine is one of the largest drug seizures ever in Rockingham County.
The Daily News-Record reports (http://bit.ly/WskJf0 ) the 34-year-old Joe Sanchez of Jersey City, N.J., was stopped by state police on Interstate 81 near Mauzy. Court papers say the cocaine was found inside a special compartment under the hood of the vehicle.
Police say the street value of the cocaine is $120,000.
Sanchez is being held without bond on felony charges of drug possession and transporting drugs into Virginia.
