NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The USS Theodore Roosevelt has a new commanding officer.
Capt. Daniel Grieco took command of the aircraft carrier during a ceremony Thursday. Grieco relieved Capt. William Hart.
WAVY-TV reports (http://bit.ly/YaTPHS) that the USS Roosevelt is in its final overhaul steps of a refueling and overhaul at Newport News Shipbuilding.
The Nimitz Class aircraft carrier has been in Newport News for the overhaul work since 2009. A carrier undergoes the 41-month maintenance project once in its 50-year life.
