RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Hundreds of 4-H members are heading to the Capitol to take in the historic sights and learn about lawmaking.
Organizers say the 800 expected in Richmond on Tuesday is the most ever. They'll come bearing gifts, as well. Each will deliver shamrock plants to their senators and delegates as a token of appreciation for legislative support of the 4-H.
The Virginia 4-H has been coming to the Capitol for nearly 20 years to check on each session. Organizers say more than 193,000 young people are enrolled in 4-H educational programs.
