CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - A former Albemarle County police lieutenant has pleaded guilty to embezzling money from a department petty cash fund.
Court records show Ernie Allen entered his plea to a misdemeanor embezzlement charge this week in Albemarle County General District Court. He received a 30-day sentence but 20 days of the term were suspended.
