Thursday - 11/1/2012, 4:31pm  ET

RICHMOND, Va. - Virginia is playing host to the presidential and vice presidential nominees and their closest supporters as Election Day nears.

First lady Michelle Obama will make stops Friday in Hampton and Petersburg.

Former President Bill Clinton it set to campaign Saturday for President Barack Obama in Roanoke and then join the president at a rally in northern Virginia that night.

Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan is scheduled to make a stop Saturday in Richmond. GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney made stops in Virginia on Thursday.

Vice President Joe Biden also is set to visit Virginia on Monday with his wife, Jill.

Polls show Virginia among the last handful of states where the election is a toss-up. In 2008, Obama became the first Democratic presidential candidate to carry Virginia since 1964.
