ROANOKE, Va. - A sneaky serpent that's been on the run since September is back in her owner's care.
The 7-year-old, 8-foot female python escaped from a tank in a shed behind her owner's residence in Roanoke.
Nick Shreffler tells media outlets his brother found the snake on Saturday. The 22-year-old says the snake likely had been living in the wheel well of his 1972 Chevrolet Nova, which sits at his home with no motor or transmission.
Shreffler says he sold the snake's mate because he never expected to see her again.
He says he'll take her to the vet on Monday but that she appeared to be in good health.
