GLEN LYN, Va. - Giles County authorities have identified a West Virginia man who drowned while fishing on the New River.
Sheriff Morgan Millirons says 31-year-old Brian Morris of Fayette County, W.Va., stepped off an underwater ledge while wading on the riverbed.
Searchers found Morris' body in 14 feet of water.
Millirons tells the Bluefield Daily Telegraph Morris ( http://bit.ly/NiwX45) that Morris wasn't wearing a life jacket.
The accident occurred Saturday between Glen Lyn and Narrows.
