POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Closing statements are scheduled in the breach of contract lawsuit brought by Marist College against James Madison University after the Virginia school hired former Marist men's head basketball coach Matt Brady.

The Poughkeepsie Journal reports ( that Brady concluded his testimony Monday in state Supreme Court in Poughkeepsie. Attorneys for Marist and Brady are scheduled to begin summations Tuesday morning.

Marist contends that after Brady left the Poughkeepsie school for JMU in 2008, he violated his contract by continuing to contact four players he had recruited for Marist. Those four players went on to play for him at James Madison.

JMU officials have said they didn't know players Brady brought with him were Marist recruits.

Marist is seeking unspecified damages from Brady for taking the job in Harrisonburg, Va., without written permission.
