LONDON (AP) - Thomas Daley of Britain got a diving do-over in the opening round of the men's 10-meter platform final.
Daley lodged a protest after his first attempt, saying he was distracted by flashing cameras in the stands. The FINA judge reviewed the replay, which clearly showed several flashes going off, and allowed Daley to go back up the tower for another attempt.
He took advantage of his second chance, raising his score from 75.60 points to 91.80 on the back 2 1/2 somersault with 2 1/2 twists. With the higher score, Daley was tied for third after the first of six rounds of dives on Saturday night.
