Thousands in D.C. without power

WASHINGTON — About 5,000 people in Northeast D.C. are in the dark on Thursday night.

PEPCO says the outage, which began at about 9 p.m., is due to a problem at the Benning Road substation.

People living along H Street and Benning Road Northeast and between Gallaudet University, RFK Stadium and the Minnesota Avenue Metro are affected.

Crews working to solve the problem.
