WASHINGTON (AP) -- District of Columbia police say 60 people have been arrested in a prostitution sting in downtown Washington.
Police say the arrests were made this weekend over the course of 36 hours during an initiative dubbed "Operation Off the Streets 2." The cases involved both men and women.
Investigators say the offenses ranged from street-level prostitution to internet and hotel prostitution in northwest Washington.
Police received tips from the public through 911 calls, community meetings and neighborhood list serve postings.
