Longer waits on 3 Metro lines this weekend

Wednesday - 8/7/2013, 3:00pm  ET

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro riders will experience longer-than-average waits for trains this weekend on the red, orange and blue lines.

Metro says beginning Friday at 10 p.m. and continuing through closing Sunday, trains on those three lines will operate every 20 minutes rather than the usual 12 minutes.

On the red line, there will be additional trains; however, between the Dupont Circle and NoMa-Gallaudet stations from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., leading to approximately 10 minute waits.

Metro says trains on the green and yellow lines will be unaffected by work.
